Alan Cohen
Lower Elementary Teacher
 If you drop your child off at Eliot before
8:15 am, you will see Alan Cohen with the
children who arrive for the morning Extended Day
Program. An avid sportsman, Mr. Cohen enjoys
playing baseball, tennis, golf and basketball
has coordinated a parents’ pickup basketball
game played in the gymnasium over the winter on
Saturday mornings.
Born in Brooklyn, NY and raised on Long
Island, he received a BA from Union college and
an MS from Wheelock College. He has served as
the Director of the Driscoll Extended Day
Program in Brookline, a consultant to the
Massachusetts Department of Education, the
schoolteacher at Massachusetts General Hospital,
and as an anatomy instructor before taking his
Montessori training.
