Curriculum
"Learning doesn’t exist in a vacuum: every new piece
of knowledge is intertwined with countless others, learned over
the years... at Eliot this is The Journey."
At
Eliot, we offer a well-rounded educational experience that
explores interdisciplinary connections. In keeping with the
classic Montessori concept of educating the whole child, we
offer an expansive curriculum that emphasizes responsibility,
accountability, creativity, teamwork and respect for others.
Eliot Montessori School organizes students into four groups:
 |
The Kindergarten program
(ages 4.10 to 6 years) is hands-on
learning that provides students with a strong foundation
for cultural and academic excellence. |
 |
Lower Elementary (grades 1 -
3) students
explore the wonders of the universe in a secure,
supportive environment that enables them to master
increasingly challenging tasks and skills. |
 |
Upper Elementary (grades 4 -
5) expands to
more sophisticated learning, where students make
interdisciplinary connections, develop investigative and
creative writing skills and increasingly work
independently to accomplish their work. |
 |
Middle School
(grades 6 - 8) offers a noncompetitive, supportive environment that
capitalizes on students’ individual strengths and
talents and launches them on the path to future academic
success. |
In blending the best of Montessori with a rigorous
curriculum, Eliot prepares students well for high school — and
beyond.
